A Beautiful Disaster

I'm lots of things. An enigma. An artist. A lover. A daughter. A sister. A wife. A mother. A shamelessly boycrazy flirt. A liberal lost in a sea of conservatives.

I'm a recent transplant to Atlanta, Ga. I moved here with my family in spring 2008, when my husband took a job in the area. We're happily settling into life in Atlanta.

Prior to living in Atlanta, we were in Huntsville, Al. We spent a few years there, and made many close friends.

I grew up in Colville, Wa. but I call Seattle home. I lived in Seattle for three years, and during those three years, I really found out who I am and what I want out of life. And my philosophy is that home is where you discover yourself, not necessarily where you were raised.

I went to school to be a veterinary assistant. I recently went back to school to further my education. I'm doing prerequisites now, and when those are done, I hope to enter the Veterinary Technology program at my college.

On January 31, 2007, my world changed forever. My sweet son was born. He is truly the light of my life. I love being a mother, I love having a family. I write about my son and my husband and our life an awful lot.

My husband, son and I are vegetarians. We made the switch December 26, 2007.

"I could tell you of my adventures beginning from this morning, but it is no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then."
~Alice, from Alice in Wonderland.

"Three things in human life are important. The first is to be kind. The second is to be kind. The third is to be kind."
~Henry James

"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us."
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Find the person who will love you because of your differences, not in spite of them, and you've found a lover for life. Happily, we are all individuals; similar to others in many ways and yet very different in others. It's these differences that make us who we are and determine the directions in which we'll grow and change. Being "normal" doesn't mean giving up our uniqueness so that we can be like everyone else. It means being proud of the ways in which we are all uniquely us. In fact, it is this aspect of ourselves that attracts others and is our most loving gift to them."
